Decorations

The Wonder Pets! always opens with the Wonder Pets! in their cages/aquarium at the schoolhouse. Decorate your party area to look like a schoolhouse:

• Set up an art easel
• Set up a reading area with a couple of books about guinea pigs, ducks and turtles
• Make a sign about what the weather is like today and a calendar marking what the day is today
• Write up letter charts with capital and lower case letters and place them on the walls
• Place pencil holders and other desk accessories around the tables of the room

Since the pets on the show live in a classroom and in cages, create a hamster cage as an added decoration. Use streamers as sawdust on the floor, while you use construction paper for the cage bars on the windows and doors. If you have the time, gather enough cardboard to construct a wheel to add to the overall look.

The Wonder Pets! show is filled with bright colors and animals. Set your table with your child’s favorite colors. Tie matching balloons on the back of the chairs. For a centerpiece, use a stuffed guinea pig, and/or a yellow duckling, and/or a turtle and attach balloons to these stuffed animals.

Scatter crayons and markers around the party table that the kids can use during the party to color on their cups and napkins.
