Introduction and Party Invitations

Do sugar plum fairies and nutcrackers dance in your little girl’s head not only during the holidays, but also all year round? If so, she may be a blooming ballerina who would enjoy inviting her friends to a party of pirouettes to celebrate her birthday. Bring out the tutus for a ballet extravaganza she’ll never forget.

Create your own handmade ballerina invitation using heavy cardstock and pink tissue paper.

  • Using heavy cream cardstock, fold your card into an invitation. On the inside write your party details.
  • On the outside, cut out a large purple rectangle of cardstock and glue on to the front of the card.
  • Draw a dress bodice on pink paper and cut out. Glue onto the purple rectangle.
  • For the tutu, cut out a small rectangle of pink tissue and lightly crumple to give a tutu look.
  • Glue the tissue onto the end of the bodice dress on the purple rectangle, and add a little bow to the pink tissue paper tutu for additional décor.

Alternatively, head to a thrift store and find used ballet slippers. Place a small scrolled pink paper into the shoes with the party details written on it, and hand-deliver to your guests. Request the guests bring the ballet shoe with them to the party and provide them with the other as they arrive.

Note: Ask your guests to wear their dance leotards and bring their ballet slippers to the party.
