Introduction and Party Invitations

From being a little furry caterpillar, to creating a cocoon, to becoming a beautiful butterfly that is able to fly gracefully in our gardens, butterflies often intrigue children. They are graceful, lovely, and would make a perfect party theme if your birthday child also loves these creatures. Consider these party ideas to inspire a butterfly birthday party theme during the spring or any other time of the year.  

Using a favorite color of heavy cardstock, create your invitation card. There are two ways you can decorate the front of the card. One, take a picture of the birthday child in her butterfly wings and place on the front of the card. Alternatively, have the birthday child draw butterflies, use stickers, or stencil butterflies on the front of the card. Inside, write your butterfly party details.

You could also cut out your card in a butterfly shape and decorate it with crayons, markers, and glitter glue. On the reverse side, write your party details.
