Introduction and Party Invitations
Carnival games, animal antics, and clowning around are part and parcel of a circus party theme that is sure to please many ages from toddlers to school-aged children. It’s also a perfect theme when you need to invite large numbers of kids; for example, when you must invite the entire class. Let the circus begin with this fun theme.
Make a circus ticket invitation that will guarantee the invited guest loads of fun under the birthday child’s big tent. Using heavy card stock in bright, bold colors, cut it into a ticket shape and write all of the party details on one side of the ticket. On the other side, place a title like One Entrance Ticket to (birthday child’s name) Big Tent Circus Celebration!
Request that the guests bring their circus tickets with them to gain entrance to the party.
Alternatively, you can make an oversized clown mask invitation with paper plates, using craft supplies to decorate the clown face. Inside the mask, provide all of the party details, and mail it in a large envelope. Request that the children wear their clown masks to the circus.
Party Tip:
In your party invitation, ask your guests to dress as clowns in baggy clothes. At the party, you can have face painting and provide wigs and red noses to finish off the guests’ clown attire. Make sure to take pictures and send them with your thank you notes.
